Zvents powers Newspapers’ Movie Guides
As part of our on-going effort to provide users with the best features and functionality for finding things to do in their local area, Zvents has added local Movie search to our capabilities. This functionality is available only on partner sites – Mercury News Movies.
The new Movies tab makes use of all the cool and powerful functionality that has made discovering local events easy and fun. We have layered our robust search functionality on top of the more traditional movie features found on other movie sites and included “nearby” features to help users find restaurants and other things to do as part of the entire movie outing experience.
We provide multiple means for users to find the information they’re looking for in as few clicks as possible – by genre, movie title, rating or theater. You can even search by actor, director or rating details (violence, nudity, language) for advanced users.
One of the most frustrating experiences for users in finding movies is comparing different movies at different times at different theaters. In the past, this has meant multiple browser windows or a lot of clicking back and forth and a good memory. With our interface, you can find theaters near you on a map and then quickly compare movies at the theaters you are interested in all in one interface.
For the parents out there who have experienced a difficult or near impossible task of trying to find appropriately rated movies for their kids with one click, we offer browsing by rating. See all the G-rated movies playing near you this weekend.
Users can post reviews of movies and compare their own views with those of critics from local media.
We think all of this makes for a movie finding experience that will meet user needs – even those needs users never realized they needed. We hope you like this new product as much as we do!
